WEAVERs- 16 Days of Activism art exhibition

The WEAVERs are a group of women who have experienced domestic, family violence and/or sexual violence and who play a role in ‘weaving’ lived experience into research and training at the University of Melbourne.

With the theme of this years 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence being "UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls", a number of our talented WEAVERs have 'united' via their art. In recent decades, art has become well recognised as a powerful form of therapy.

We invite you to enjoy the WEAVERs online art exhibition, allowing yourself to be drawn into the beauty that evolved from so much fear and pain while reflecting on how far we've come in eliminating violence against women and girls; how far we have to go and your own role in advocating for solutions, awareness and resources to better prevent and respond to gender-based violence.

Thank you to the amazing WEAVERS who created these words and artwork.
